I became a counselor last year and was a classroom teacher for 14 years prior to that. My objective as a school counselor is to help students overcome problems that impede learning and assist them in making good educational/life choices. I believe that all students are capable of achieving their goals and I am here to provide them with the support/tools that they need to do so.

My curriculum, which consists of the 6 pillars of characters (respect, responsibility, caring, citizenship, fairness, and trustworthiness) is taught through guidance class sessions administered on a six-week basis to all students from Pk to 5th grade. These sessions also include topics such as goal setting, bullying, drug awareness, test-taking skills, career options, and higher education.

In addition to class sessions, I also provide small group and individual counseling as needed for any academic and personal issues that they may need to overcome such as anger management, stress, and low self- esteem among many others.

It is a great privilege for me to be able to serve our students as a counselor. Their well-being is of the utmost importance to me. Furthermore, I love being able to be part of their support system and seeing them grow into the people they are meant to be.
